Clemente Díaz was born in Cali, Colombia, on August 5, 1938. Mr. Díaz received his early education with Professor Alfonso Valdiri Vanegas at the Conservatorio Antonio María Valencia in Cali.
Mr Díaz spent 20 years in Europe, studying with Regino Sainz de la Maza, Antonio Moreno, Antonio Company, and Nicolás Alfonso. After returning to his homeland, he has taught at Conservatorio Antonio María Valencia, Universitad Nacional de Colombia and the Pedagógica Nacional in Bogotá. Included in this edition are pasillos, fantasias based on Colombian rhythms, bambucos, waltzes, chorinhos, etudes, variations and other works and arrangements using various Colombian rhythms.
This book is a tribute to maestro Clemente Díaz, who has been an inspiration to generations of guitarist in Colombia.
