Description
Johann Jakob Froberger (1616 – 1667), Tombeau pour Blancrocher
Arranged & Edited by Michael Lorimer.
12 Pages.
The tradition of the Tombeau is one which was popular at this time, but has been largely lost today. It was a work composed in memory of a recently deceased person, slow and often deeply emotive in style. Mr.Blancrocher was a well-known French lutenist who died after accidentaly falling down a flight of stairs in 1652. This work is one of several composed in tribute to Blancrocher.
