With this book,  the Diputación de Granada intended to help lay the foundation for public recognition of the Granada school of guitar makers and fill a gap in the literature,  in contrast to its absence indisputable value,  backed by a great international reputation.  Guitar craftsmen of this city,  where the highest concentration of first-rate luthiers are in the world,  are followers of a tradition that begins with Eduardo Ferrer and has been passed down to this day among builders  in Granada.

In this work,  guitarists and musicologists analyze the history and the present of building handmade guitars in Granada.  The interviews with the luthiers conducted by Alberto Cuéllar form the basis of this fascinating part of the culture of the city for centuries old.

This Spanish / English bilingual edition will encourage the international dissemination of this local craft,  attracting admirers and musicians from all over the world.
